Nearly a
century of
loving this city

Memorial Presbyterian Church is a historic congregation in the heart of West Palm Beach with a simple conviction: God loves this city, and He is inviting us to join Him in its renewal. We believe our best chapters are still ahead.

Our Story

Born from
a prayer

1926

A prayer for the city

On a Sunday afternoon, a small group of neighbors gathers to pray for West Palm Beach and her future. Out of that prayer meeting, a church is born, and the congregation builds its first sanctuary with its own hands.

1928

Rebuilt after the storm

The devastating hurricane of 1928 destroys the sanctuary. The church family rebuilds it again, refusing to give up on its city through the worst of times.

Today

Planted for the city

Memorial stands strategically planted between the Norton Museum of Art to the west, the Intracoastal Waterway to the east, and a growing downtown to the north, joining God in the renewal of West Palm Beach.

2126

The next hundred years

Our hope is that the work of our church and our people will match God's imagination for this city over the next century.

What We Believe

God. City.
Story.

God

Created for connection

We believe we are called and created for connection, with God, with each other, and with ourselves. We experience this connection as a community through prayer, worship, discipleship, and communion. And God's grace works through our everyday lives too, in conversations with family, friends, and neighbors, in our work and in our play.

City

Called to West Palm Beach

We believe we are called to be present and to witness to God's presence in this particular place. God is already at work here, breathing life into our city and bringing renewal where systems and people are broken. Our task is to discern where God is already working and join in, so that all in our city may flourish.

Story

Part of a bigger story

We believe every person's story matters, and that each of our stories finds its meaning within the ultimate story God is writing. At Memorial, we help one another understand and tend to our stories in the light of that greater narrative of redemption.

Memorial is part of the ECO Presbyterian Movement, churches extending across Florida, the nation, and beyond.
